A free week-long family halloween programme of activities!
1. A self-guided museum trail, inviting visitors to search for a variety of Halloween-themed creatures from the natural world; including bats, spiders, snakes and owls, hidden throughout the museum galleries. Participants will discover facts about each species along the route, increasing awareness of local wildlife, biodiversity and the important roles these often-misunderstood animals play. Of course, treats await those who are able to complete the trail from the reception desk!
2. A series of guided Spooky Story Tours within the museum’s historic basement cells. Drawing upon the site’s heritage as a former courthouse and holding cells, these adult and child sessions will use storytelling to share local history of the building’s unique past in a fun and light-hearted way. Adult tours are taking place on Tuesday 27th October and Children tours Thursday 29th October, bookable in advance.
3. A dedicated craft area for children and families to create spooky-themed decorations and crafts using environmentally sustainable materials.
