Half-term is nearly here, and so is the Welsh Museums Festival. From Friday 25 October to Saturday 2 November, almost 50 museums across Wales are ready to welcome you with a warm croeso (welcome!) and plenty of hwyl, which means fun, joy, and good times all rolled into one!
You Could Win a Prize Just for Visiting
Kids can get involved in our Wales History Trails Passport Challenge, and pick up a passport in one of our participating museums, or download one from the website, and collect stamps as they go. Visit just ONE museum during half-term to win a den-making kit, or make it to SIX museums by next April for the chance to win a brand-new scooter!
What to Expect
There’s a whole truck of hwyl happening in your local museum:
- Halloween trails and spooky storytelling, where you can learn about turnip lanterns and the cropped black sow!
- Workshops, crafts, and more
- A brand-new resource by poet Aneirin Karadog on the ‘History of Hwyl’
Whether you’re after a quiet afternoon learning something new or a proper family adventure across multiple museums, the Festival is a great option!
Where to Start
Head to the Festival web page to browse what’s on offer, find your nearest venues, and get going! With just 10 days to go, now’s a good time to get planning. We can’t wait to give you a warm croeso!
