October 20, 2025 |

Croeso! Great news for families and history enthusiasts – the Wales History Trails Passport Challenge returns on 25 October 2025, with 34 museums taking part across Wales. With lots of ‘hwyl’ (fun and joy) at every stop, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover the treasures on your doorstep.

What’s On Offer?

From ancient logboats and Egyptian mummies to Dylan Thomas’s writing shed and the birthplace of the world’s first railway journey, there’s an incredible variety of museums and galleries ready to welcome visitors.

The Prizes

Here’s the exciting part – there are two chances to win!

Visit ONE museum by the end of October half-term (2 November 2025) and you could win a den-making kit – perfect for new, autumn adventures!

Visit SIX museums by the end of the Easter holidays (12 April 2026) and you could win a scooter!

How to Take Part

It couldn’t be simpler:

  1. Pick up your free passport from any participating museum, or download it from the Museums Federation website here
  2. Visit a museum and get your passport stamped
  3. Fill in the online form with your details (after just ONE visit!)
  4. Keep exploring and collecting stamps (and repeat the process after SIX visits)!

That’s it – no complicated rules, no need to show your passport. Just visit, explore, and feel the hwyl!

The challenge runs from 25 October 2025 until 12 April 2026, giving you plenty of time to discover new museums across Wales. Why not make it a family mission to explore different corners of the country and learn something new at every stop? You’ll find a warm croeso waiting at every museum!

Ready to start your museum adventure? Find your nearest participating museum and grab your passport. Good luck, and happy exploring!
