DESCRIPTION:This year we are having a welcomed in person return of our popu
 lar Christmas conference\, hosted by the wonderful Swansea Museum and offe
 ring a chance to meet once again with friends and colleagues from across t
 he museum collections conservation sector.\nThis year’s conference theme
  is simply one of sharing your Conservation related story to celebrate the
  diversity and creativity of our work. Conservators are resilient and inno
 vative\, and we want to hear about things you have learnt\, experiences ga
 ined\, and any fabulous projects completed! We are now seeking proposals f
 or 10 to 20-minute presentations for the conference and encourage students
  and emerging professionals especially to take part. Deadline for submissi
 on of abstracts (max. 200 words) to Megan de Silva - MeganDeSilva@monmouth
 shire.gov.uk - by 24th November 2023.\n\nThe event will be in-person event
  only as due to the complexities of doing hybrid meetings we will not be t
 rying to offer a live virtual option. However\, we will look to record the
  conference to make available at a later date with the permissions of the 
 presenters.\nRegistration is £25 but free for presenters\, volunteers\, s
 tudents\, and those on benefits.\nThis cross disciplinary conference will 
 be attended by conservators\, curators\, collection managers and others en
 gaged in the care of collections. The conference ethos is to be an inclusi
 ve network and proposals are welcomed from those inside and outside of Wal
 es\, although when selecting papers we will prioritise presentations that 
 demonstrate relevance to the Welsh context.\n\nMatters Wales is a collabor
 ation between Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales\, the Federation o
 f Museums and Art Galleries in Wales\, and Cardiff University.\n\nSave the
