Annual General Meeting 2023

The AGM of the Federation of Museums and Art Galleries of Wales will be held virtually at 2pm on Thursday 2nd November 2023. 

We are opening the opportunity to apply for the roles of President and Vice-President beyond the existing Committee in order to broaden our skill set and capacity.  There is a summary of the role description and person specification below.  All Committee members actively support these roles to ensure equity of commitment and time. THE PRESIDENT & VICE-PRESIDENT

Role Summary

The role of President is to lead the board of trustees and provide strategic leadership in fulfilling the Business Strategy and charity objectives

The Vice-President will adopt the duties in absence of the President.

Key Role Responsibilities

§   To provide leadership and strategic direction to the board, ensuring it fulfils its responsibilities and purpose effectively.

§   To ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and strategic objects are clearly articulated and effectively delivered.

§   Creates productive relationships with all Board members, and ensure that their skills and experiences are properly harnessed.

§   Chair trustee meetings, ensuring that a balance is struck between time-keeping and space for discussions.

§   Ensure the implementation of decisions is clearly assigned and monitored

§   Acts as a spokesperson and figurehead for the charity.

§   Help increase the Federation’s public profile and those of Welsh museums and galleries, through networking, representation and advocacy.

§   Plan and prepare trustee meetings and the AGM with the Secretary.
